MR Toiletry Drive for colleges
The Shreveport (LA) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated is inviting the public to support college students and donate toiletries at a drop off event on Saturday, November 18, 2023. The following items will be collected:
– Deodorant – Lotion
– Soap – Mouthwash
– Toothbrushes – Toothpaste
– Hand towels – Face towels

About The Links, Incorporated
The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of more than 17,000 professional women of African descent in 299 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom. Incorporated, has five facets which include Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services and Health and Human Services. The programs are implemented through strategies such as public information and education, economic development, and public policy
campaigns.
About The Shreveport (LA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated
The Shreveport Chapter of the Links, Incorporated was installed on April 15, 1973, when eleven distinguished Shreveport women answered the call to charter the chapter. Many of the current programs are implemented in schools within Caddo Parish Public Schools. The Links have adopted both Caddo Heights Elementary and Bethune-Oak Park Elementary. Programs include healthy eating, proper exercising, career exploration and the establishment of a garden at Caddo Heights and etiquette classes. Other programs include donating needed supplies to the hygiene closet at Louisiana State University Shreveport, delivering toiletries to various community nursing facilities, as well as hosting holiday parties. Community activities include participating in Voter Registration Drives and the establishment of health fairs in various communities.
